The Austrian XR landscape just got a whole lot bigger. What started as XR Vienna has now evolved into XR Austria, marking a bold new chapter for immersive technologies nationwide. On May 8, 2025, the transformation was officially unveiled at EDAY 2025, hosted by the Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (WKO) in Vienna, and we at Amlogy were honored to be part of this great moment.
EDAY 2025, Austria’s largest digitalization event for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), carried the powerful theme „Digitalisierung trifft Nachhaltigkeit / Chancen für Ihr Unternehmen“ which translates to “Digitalization meets Sustainability / Opportunities for Your Company.” The event featured high-level presentations, expert panels, and hands-on workshops exploring how digital technologies can drive sustainable growth across industries. This year was especially unique as they hosted a special XR Showcase to highlight how immersive technology can support sustainability in businesses of all sizes. It truly served as an ideal stage to highlight how XR can be a bridge between innovation and environmental responsibility.
As a company dedicated to pushing the boundaries of immersive communication, it was inspiring to see the XR community grow beyond city lines and embrace a nationwide mission focused on innovation, sustainability, and collaboration!

EDAY 2025: A Launchpad for XR and Sustainability
Out of only five projects selected from across Austria for this landmark event, we were honored to showcase the Howard Cube project in partnership with ProHolz Steiermark. The Howard Cube is a hybrid learning experience developed in collaboration with ProHolz Steiermark, and reflects their mission to promote the sustainable use of wood through education, construction, and public engagement. As an interactive AR learning tool, the Howard Cube raises awareness about forests, wood construction, and climate protection in a playful and accessible way. It supports early education, informs future building practices, and highlights the value of wood as a sustainable material, all of which align with ProHolz’s goal to strengthen Austria’s wood industry and encourage conscious resource use.
Whether in classrooms, homes or on trade fair floors, the Howard Cube is proving how immersive tech can support green knowledge transfer in practical, engaging and scalable ways.
XR for Sustainability: More Than Just a Buzzword
One of the most powerful messages at EDAY 2025 was that XR is not just about innovation, it’s about impact. From reducing waste in design workflows to creating inclusive, interactive learning tools, XR is being embraced as a driver of responsible digitalization. It was clear that the Austrian XR ecosystem is ready to lead in this space, and we’re proud to be part of that movement.

The rebranding from XR Vienna to XR Austria represents more than a name change, it’s a call for unity, growth, and nationwide collaboration. With initiatives like this gaining momentum, Austria is positioning itself as an emerging leader in immersive innovation with purpose.
On that not, one of the most exciting parts of EDAY 2025 was being surrounded by fellow pioneers who are using immersive technology to make a real impact. It was truly inspiring to share this momentous occasion with with several forward-thinking projects that are that are raising the flag for immersive technology across Austria and redefining how XR can support sustainability, education, and awareness in powerful and creative ways!

GREENH2VR by MINDCONSOLE
At a glance: An immersive learning experience that helps students explore green hydrogen production through engaging virtual environments.
Developed by MINDCONSOLE’s XRCONSOLE team, GREENH2VR is a mixed reality application designed to educate students about green hydrogen production. By simulating energy generation across various countries and seasons, it bridges theoretical knowledge with practical understanding, fostering experiential learning in sustainability.
Cow Chat Crime by City Games Vienna
At a glance: A WhatsApp-based crime game that turns players into sustainability detectives on a farm. A clever mix of storytelling and education!
An interactive crime-thriller played via WhatsApp, Cow Chat Crime immerses players in a mystery set on a countryside farm. Developed in collaboration with BOKU University and Vetmeduni Vienna, the game educates players on sustainable beef and milk production through engaging storytelling.
Disappointed Wildlife by Artivive
At a glance: A moving AR art project that gives endangered animals a voice through augmented illustrations.
Conceived by Andrea Braga, this augmented reality art exhibition brings attention to endangered species through animated illustrations. Using the Artivive app, viewers can experience the poignant expressions of animals from various habitats, emphasizing the urgency of wildlife conservation.
Jede Dose Zählt by vrisch
At a glance: A virtual reality game that teaches proper recycling while keeping players engaged through gamification.
A VR game developed by vrisch, Jede Dose Zählt (Every Can Counts) educates players on proper waste separation and the value of aluminum recycling. Set in Vienna’s Schwarzenbergplatz, the game combines fun and education to promote environmental responsibility among young audiences.
The variety and quality of XR innovation on display showed just how strong and diverse Austria’s immersive community has become. We stand proud to be part of such a vibrant XR community in Austria!
